Magician's world record confirmed
News Staff Writer
BUCKS COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE - Officials from the Guinness Book of World Records have confirmed that magician John Cassidy set a world record at Bucks County Community College in the fall, when he inflated and sculpted 747 balloon animals in one hour.
Cassidy burst his previous record of 654 on Nov. 14 by creating a mountain of dogs, swords, swans, bears and fish.
The new record was confirmed after Guinness officials analyzed video of the event and the signed affidavits of the judges and timekeepers.
The event, “The Power of Lungs,” was sponsored by the BCCC chapter of Pennsylvania Students Working Against Tobacco to kick off the Great American Smokeout.
