Most Balloon Sculptures in One Hour
John currently holds this record at an unbelievable 747 balloon sculptures in one hour. This world record certainly has a history - it has been back and forth between John and Salvatore Sabbatino of Germany since 1999. John originally broke the Guinness World Record® on Monday, May 10, 1999, at Gator's Restaurant in Berwyn by completing 367 balloon sculptures in one hour out of 371 balloons, breaking the former record of 296 held by Sabbatino. The attempt was broadcast live on Good Day Philadelphia on Fox Philadelphia. This first record attempt was inspired by a local television personality, Grover Silcox of Fox 29's Good Day Philadelphia, when he commented on air that John must be the fastest in the world and should make an attempt at the Guinness World Record®.

In elementary school, John remembers reading the Guinness Book of World Records® and wondering what it would be like to actually be one of the record breakers. He never thought that in adulthood he would have the opportunity to do so. It was exciting for him to be able to fulfill a childhood dream!

On February 16, 2001, John, upon hearing a rumor that his 1999 record had been beaten, made another attempt at the record. As of February 14, 2001, according to the Keeper of the Records at Guinness World Records®, Sabbatino's attempt was still not verified, in other words, John’s record of 367 was still the official record. In light of this information, John decided to beat Sabbatino's unofficial record, and defend his title on February 16, 2001 at Gator’s Restaurant in Berwyn, Pennsylvania at 6:00 p.m. — and that's exactly what he did — completing 468 balloon sculptures in one hour! The new record was verified in March of 2002 by Guinness World Records® headquarters in London.

At the invitation of The CBS Early Show and Guinness World Records®, on August 29, 2002 John beat his old record on live television by completing 494 balloon sculptures! The CBS Early Show featured a week of Guinness World Record holders to mark the release of the 2003 Guinness Book of World Records®. John's 2002 record is featured in the hard cover edition of the 2004 Guinness Book of World Records® on page 23.

Then, after hearing that Salvatore Sabbatino beat his 2002 record by three on German television, John rolled up his sleeves and puffed out his cheeks to win back the record by completing an amazing 529 balloon sculptures in one hour in New York City under the supervision of Guinness World Records officials. You can read more about John's record and see a photo of him surrounded by his creations in the 2005 Guinness Book.

The latest round took place in November of 2005 - this time, he completed 654 balloon sculptures in one hour in New York City under the supervision of Guinness World Records officials. While he was there re-breaking his record for Most Balloon Sculptures Completed in One Hour, he also broke the record for Most Balloon Sculptures Completed in One Minute - 13.

Most Modeling Balloons Inflated in One Hour AND Fastest Single Balloon Sculpture
John broke two new records on 4Kids TV on May 13, 2006. He set a new record for the Most Modeling Balloons Inflated in One Hour - an unbelievable 717! He also set a new record for the Fastest Single Balloon Sculpture - 6.4 seconds. Guinness World Records® official, Stuart Claxton witnessed and verified the attempt.
